Plug aerators remove 3/4 inch diameter soil plugs from the lawn, allowing compacted soil to loosen up in addition to the benefits provided by a spike aerator. Best for easily compacted soil, like clay, heavy traffic areas (playgrounds and sports fields), and burned out, drought-damaged lawns.
This 48-inch model has 24 heat-treated points, 4 per spool. The heavy duty design ensures a long working life, and the coring points won’t bend or break in tough soil conditions. It has an aeration depth up to 3-inches and 10 x 4 pneumatic wheels.
For transportation between lawn areas, the metal spools can be raised from the ground by a single lever which is easily accessible from the tractor seat. This product has also been recently re-designed to reduce assembly time. Weight 81 lbs. Agri-Fab aerators are supplied with a hitch pin and can be fitted to all makes of ride-on mower.
